As our clients will know, our in-house barrister, Joanne Sefton, is very talented. Her army of fans tell of her pragmatism and intelligence as well as her powerful command of the law and the English language.

Not prepared to rest on her laurels ‘just’ by being a barrister, published novelist and nice person, Joanne has now been appointed to be an Employment Judge from the autumn. It’s another great achievement, well-deserved, and we’re very proud of her.

The bittersweet aspect of this news is that, since her country needs her, she will sadly be leaving us at the end of August to take up the appointment on a salaried basis in Manchester. Given her track record, we suspect this is not the last we will hear of Joanne’s achievements and we’ll keep you posted on further news of ‘Our Friend in the North’.
