Employment Lawyer – Senior Associate/Partner-level
We’re a highly regarded and successful niche employment law firm providing an outstanding bespoke service to our clients. A Legal 500 firm, we act for national and international commercial clients, further education colleges, and SMEs. We deliver creative solutions and technical legal excellence, with a human touch.
Family-friendly, we’ve been successfully combining agile working and high-quality respondent work since the firm’s inception, five years ago. We commit to offering a genuinely supportive environment for your career to develop. This is backed up by our solid track record of delivering a work-life balance and career progression for our small team, whether they work flexibly, part or full-time. We work collaboratively from a stunning rural setting in Wiltshire and will devise with you the right blend of office-based and home working.
The role is varied and comes with full scope for you to be involved in growing and managing the firm. You’ll work closely with businesses and their HR teams on a range of contentious and non-contentious work, with opportunities to provide bespoke training and legal updates to them. You will manage a varied workload, predominately acting for employers, with occasional instructions from senior executives, on the full array of employment law.
We are looking for a pragmatic and approachable employment lawyer who inspires confidence in clients. Ideally you will be 5 years+ PQE. However, we welcome applications from all candidates with compelling respondent experience, including employment tribunal litigation. Experience of the education sector is desirable but not essential.
You will be:
• Commercial and solution-focused
• Meticulous and entrepreneurial, able to find the best possible outcomes for clients
• Friendly, positive, confident, motivated and tenacious
• Technically excellent, with an eye for detail
We are based at Heywood House, Wiltshire, a beautiful rural office hub near Bath, Bristol and Swindon. It’s also very close to Westbury station, with its direct connections to London Paddington, the south coast and Wales. On-site facilities include good coffee, free parking, a tempting café, woodland running track, scenic walks, and outdoor seating in the topiary and walled gardens (if you need to get a breath of fresh air!). It’s also a dog-friendly site.
Competitive salary with a range of benefits including private healthcare, health cash plan and pension scheme.
We promote hybrid ways of working and pride ourselves on our supportive and collaborative approach to work, whether that’s remotely or in the office. We will consider flexible or part-time hours, subject to a minimum of 20 hours per week.
