Joanne Sefton

Joanne is our in-house barrister with over 15 years’ experience of employment law advice and advocacy. With a first from Cambridge and a 10-year career in a premier set of chambers, her legal understanding and analysis is top-rate. But her greatest talent is translating that depth of knowledge into understandable, practical and engaging advice for her clients.

Joanne handles litigation for both employers and employees, putting clients at ease and in control of the process at every stage, and getting the best possible result. The real advantage of instructing her at an early stage, even before litigation starts, is that the same lawyer will be at your side throughout, then standing up and representing you at the hearing.

Joanne’s employer advisory work focuses on the FE, manufacturing and charity sectors, and she provides support across the full range of legal issues. She specialises in senior executive exit negotiations, including securing severance packages for individuals leaving major universities, a top-tier motor manufacturer and well-known public sector bodies.

Outside work, Joanne enjoys all things literary, buying unsuitable shoes, and a glass of good red wine.
