Sian Strand is a Senior Associate at Mitchell Law. She delivers commercial outcomes which keep clients’ reputational interests intact.

Many years of experience as in-house employment counsel in financial services and blue-chip companies have equipped Sian with the insight to quickly identify what really matters to employers.

Her return to private practice brings the welcome pleasure of working closely with all of our HR teams. They each value Sian’s practical, hands-on advice that cuts to the heart of the issues. Sian particularly enjoys advising on business sales and acquisitions, restructuring, TUPE and settlement agreements, as well as guiding clients through employment tribunal claims.

Sian’s mastermind subjects include drafting and advising on the application of disciplinary and grievance procedures, and strategic advice on complex dismissals (whether for conduct, capability, sickness absence or redundancy). Handling the intricacies and challenges of performance management is a particular favourite.

Sian is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association.

Outside of work Sian enjoys taking her dog on walks in the countryside, playing the piano, reading and spending time with her family and friends.
